Lisa Glover ‘13’s Jurassic Halloween:
"I made the velociraptor for my TE 416 Class, for an assignment called ‘Making It’. In this assignment, we had to explore a manufacturing process and then demonstrate it in an innovative way. I chose Industrial Origami, which applies the principles of Origami to manufacturing, using sheet metal instead of paper. Industrial origami is mostly used for utilitarian objects, such as car jacks and cabinets. I thought it would be neat to use it as normal Origami is- as art. Of course, I don’t have access to a large supply of cheap sheet metal, so I made my art piece (which doubles as a Halloween costume)- a velociraptor- out of chipboard."
